Who we are: A charitable organization that works to support families and individuals struggling with the debilitating effects of prenatal alcohol. Founded in 1995 as Fetal Alcohol Support Network (Metropolitan Toronto and Peel) the organization changed its name in 2000 when the various cities within the greater Toronto area were forced to amalgamate.

is committed to:
Provide support and information to parents, caregivers and professionals dealing with FASD*, as well as individuals living with FASD;
Encourage the development of new programs for individuals with FASD and their families, women of childbearing age and their partners, and individuals struggling with alcohol and substance issues;
Work locally, nationally and internationally, with other support groups, individuals and organizations, who indicate a common interest in some or all of these approaches to dealing with FASD;.
Communicate the message that there is no established safe threshold of alcohol consumption in pregnancy;
Build public awareness of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)* , its secondary disabilities, the size and scope of this preventable disorder, and the personal and economic costs of FASD to our society.
*The words “Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders” and acronym “FASD” include Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS), Partial Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (pFAS), Fetal Alcohol Effects (FAE), Alcohol-Related Neurodevelopmental Disorder (ARND) and similar terms relating to mental and/or physical birth injuries caused by maternal drinking in pregnancy.
